As with all law firms, it will be necessary for Wilson Haynes to gather important and relevant personal information from you, in the course of us acting for you. This will include but not be limited to your proof of identity, home address, date of birth and phone number. We may also require information relating to your partner/spouse; loved ones and third parties, plus a statement of your recollection of the facts pertinent to your claim or defence of a claim against you.

How will the information we get from you be used by us?

Firstly, information will only be used in the provision of our pre-agreed services for and on behalf of you, and updating you as to same. This includes barristers briefed in relation to advices or appearances in court on your behalf and under our instruction. It may include provision of some or all of the information to third parties, as ordered by the court or as recommended by us to you, to fully give effect to our brief from you.

Secondly, we may use the information generally in communicating with you in relation to such things our firm’s activities, invitations and data collection about our practice. If at any time you do not wish us to use the information in the manner as described, please contact our Principal, Jim Wilson on 07-55363055 x 4.

Access to your Personal Information

You can update or access your personal information by calling or writing to our Principal, Jim Wilson at the phone number provided above. A fee may be chargeable to you by us to cover our cost of photocopying documents and staff attendances on same.

We aim to satisfy requests for information within 14 days.

Security of your Information

We believe that our office building, office, safe custody room, computers, and on line systems with dedicated third parties  are as secure as can reasonably be expected to guard against trespass, theft or tampering with your information. Our office is alarmed and has overnight security visits from a reputable security provider.
